Larissa Stein
Background: Larissa was born in Washington, D.C. but has called Charlotte home since the age of 10. Larissa and her husband, Andy, live with their endlessly entertaining malti-poo, Charlie.
Education: Larissa loved school, and it’s no wonder since she was fortunate to spend four years focused on three of her hobbies—playing the piano, reading, and writing—and studied abroad in Europe twice, first on the island of Malta and then in Vienna, Austria. Larissa graduated from Gardner-Webb University summa cum laude with a double major in English and music and was honored to be voted the Most Outstanding Female Graduate by the faculty. Larissa then decided to pursue law school to further develop her love of learning into a skill set she could use to help others. She graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2006 and continues to be a devoted Tarheel.
Work History: Larissa began her practice of law in litigation, but her desire to help individuals and families not just resolve issues but also prevent issues from arising in the first place inspired her to expand her practice to include estate planning and elder law. Larissa finds it deeply satisfying to provide others with reassurance about their future and the future of those they care about through thoughtful planning. She recognizes that the issues that bring her clients to her are sensitive and sometimes difficult for them to think about, and her goal is to provide compassionate counsel and make the process as easy as possible.
Other stuff: Larissa enjoys spending time with family, practicing yoga, and both experiencing and creating music and art. She serves on the Board for CSO Pulse (the young affiliates of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra), and is involved with the Young Affiliates of the Mint Museum. Furry family members have a special place in Larissa’s heart, and she is passionate about the mission of the Humane Society of Charlotte and seeks to further that mission by participation in the HSC’s Planned Giving Committee.
